CARBON
Your carbon footprint is determined by home energy consumption, transportation modes, products, services, food choices, trash and more. WATER
Madison's water comes from the Buried Valley Aquifer, which is under stress. But your water footprint is bigger than what flows out of your tap. It includes the food you eat, the water used for fracked gas (67% of New Jersey's fossil fuel gas is fracked) and the products you buy (textile dyeing, for instance, is water intensive). Calculate your water footprint and then check out our water conservation page for tips on reducing your local impact.
